Can Claude post to Instagram?

Yes, with an Instagram MCP server. Claude has no built-in Instagram integration, but once you add PostPlanify as a connector, Claude can schedule Instagram posts, Reels, carousels and Stories, read analytics and reply to comments.

Does Instagram have an official MCP server?

Not for posting. Meta's official Ads MCP manages Instagram and Facebook ads, but there is no official Meta MCP for organic Instagram posts as of October 2026. PostPlanify publishes through Instagram's official API.

Can ChatGPT post to Instagram?

Yes. Install the official PostPlanify plugin from the ChatGPT plugins directory, sign in, and ask ChatGPT to schedule a post, carousel or Reel to your connected Instagram account.

What kind of Instagram account do I need?

A professional account (Business or Creator). Instagram's API does not allow apps to publish to personal accounts. You can connect with Instagram login directly or through a linked Facebook Page.

Can it post Reels, carousels and Stories?

Yes. A single video is published as a Reel, carousels take up to 10 images or videos (mixed is fine), and Stories take one image or video. Carousel order follows the order you give.

Can Claude or ChatGPT schedule Instagram posts?

Yes. Your AI picks a time, and PostPlanify holds the post and publishes it at that moment, even if your chat is closed. Instagram's own API has no scheduling, so the scheduler is what makes this possible.

Can it reply to Instagram comments?

Yes. Your AI can list new comments, draft replies and post them after you confirm. Instagram DMs are not available through the MCP.

Can the AI read my Instagram analytics?

Yes: reach, views, likes, comments, saves, shares, profile visits, Reels watch time and engagement rate per post, plus follower counts. Data syncs about every hour.

Is it an Instagram scraper?

No. PostPlanify only works with the Instagram accounts you connect, through Instagram's official API. It does not read other people's profiles, hashtags or followers.

Is the Instagram MCP server free?

MCP access is included on all paid PostPlanify plans, with no separate MCP fee. One connection covers Instagram and the other 9 platforms.
