What Is a Google Review Link?
A Google review link is a URL that opens the star rating and review box for one specific business on Google. Instead of asking customers to search for you, find your profile, and hunt for the review button, you send one link and they land right where they can leave a review.
Every business listing on Google has a unique Place ID. The review link is built from it and looks like this (the tool also shows you the Place ID itself, if you need it for a review widget or another tool):
https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=ChIJN1t_tDeuEmsRUsoyG83frY4
| Link type | Example | Opens the review box? |
|---|---|---|
| Review link (Place ID) | search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=... | Yes |
| Google's short review link | g.page/r/.../review | Yes (only managers can get it) |
| Regular Google Maps link | maps.app.goo.gl/... | No, it opens the profile |
3 Ways to Get Your Google Review Link
1. From your Business Profile
Sign in to the Google account that manages the business and search for the business name on Google. Open the review options ("Ask for reviews" or "Get more reviews"), then copy the link or download Google's QR code. This is the official route, but it needs manager access.
2. With this generator
Search the business name above, pick the listing, and copy the link. No login or profile access is needed, which is why agencies use it for client locations. You also get an SVG QR code, message templates, and bulk export.
3. Build it from the Place ID
If you already know the Place ID, add it to the end of search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=. The Place ID tab above does this for you and checks the format.
Google Review QR Code
A Google review QR code does the same job as the link for people standing in front of you. Customers point their phone camera at it and land on your review form, with nothing to type. Every review link you create above comes with a free QR code, ready to download.
How to make one: find your business in the tool, then download the QR code. Use the PNG for screens, emails, and quick office prints. Use the SVG for anything going to a print shop: it is vector, so it stays sharp on a business card or a window sticker. The code is static, so it never expires and has no scan limits.
| Where it goes | Minimum QR size | Scanned from |
|---|---|---|
| Business card, receipt, packaging insert | 2 to 2.5 cm (0.8 to 1 in) | Hand held |
| Table tent, counter sign, menu | 4 to 5 cm (1.5 to 2 in) | Up to about 50 cm (20 in) |
| Door or window sticker, poster | 10 cm (4 in) or larger | 1 m (3 ft) or more |
A simple rule: the code should be about one tenth as wide as the distance people scan it from. Keep dark modules on a light background, leave a white border around the code, and scan the printed proof with two different phones before you order a full batch. A wrong location on 500 cards is an expensive mistake.
Where to Share Your Google Review Link
Text Message After the Visit
Send the link by SMS right after an appointment, delivery, or completed job, when the experience is fresh.
Follow-Up Emails
Add the link to thank-you emails, booking confirmations, invoices, and your email signature.
Receipts and Packaging
Print the QR code on receipts, takeout bags, packaging inserts, and business cards.
Counter, Table, and Door Signs
Put a "Review us on Google" sign with the QR code where customers wait or pay.
Website and Social Profiles
Link a "Leave us a review" button on your website footer, contact page, and social bios.
Agencies Managing Many Clients
Build review links and QR codes for every client location, then export them all as a CSV or ZIP.
Tips to Get More Google Reviews
Ask within a day
Send the link while the visit is fresh: right after the appointment, delivery, or job is finished. Requests sent weeks later get far fewer responses.
Ask every customer, not only happy ones
Selectively asking happy customers breaks Google policy. Asking everyone also gives you an honest picture, and a few critical reviews make the positive ones more believable.
One link and QR code per location
Every branch has its own Google listing. Sending all customers to the main location's link puts reviews on the wrong profile and does nothing for the other branches.
Put the link everywhere customers already look
Invoices, receipts, email signatures, booking confirmations, and your website footer all work. Make it easy rather than relying on one big ask.
Reply to the reviews you get
Customers notice when a business answers reviews, good and bad. Thank people by name and handle complaints calmly. It shows the next reader that someone is listening.

It's looking great!! Just what I needed to make my SM game up to the next level.
I love it! I fired my social media manager and now just use postplanify.
Been on the $79 plan for 2 months. API access and MCP support is something most alternatives don't have. Didn't think I'd pay $80/mo just to post on social media, but it saves a lot of time.
