Does YouTube have an official MCP server?

No. As of October 2026 Google has not released a YouTube MCP server. Existing ones are community projects built on the YouTube Data API, and most only read transcripts or search videos.

Can Claude or ChatGPT upload videos to YouTube?

Yes, through PostPlanify. Your AI uploads the video from a link or file, sets the title and description, and schedules it to your channel.

Can I schedule YouTube videos and Shorts with AI?

Yes. Pick any future time and PostPlanify publishes the video then. Shorts go through the same upload, and YouTube treats vertical videos under 3 minutes as Shorts automatically.

Does it publish, or only read YouTube data and transcripts?

It publishes. PostPlanify uploads and schedules videos to your own channel and reads your channel analytics. It does not pull transcripts or search other channels' videos.

Do I need a Google Cloud project or YouTube API quota?

No. Self-hosted YouTube MCP servers need your own Google Cloud project and API quota, which defaults to 100 uploads a day. PostPlanify uses its own approved app, so you sign in with Google and pick your channel.

Can the AI read my YouTube analytics?

Yes: views, likes, comments and engagement rate per video, plus subscribers, total channel views and video count.

What video settings can it set?

The title (up to 100 characters), the description and the publish time. Videos publish as public. Tags, playlists and made-for-kids settings are set in the PostPlanify dashboard or YouTube Studio.

What is the YouTube MCP server URL?

https://api.postplanify.com/api/mcp. The same URL covers YouTube and the other 9 platforms. Add it to Claude as a custom connector, or install the PostPlanify plugin from the ChatGPT plugins directory.
