Does X have an official MCP server?

Yes. X launched a hosted MCP server (XMCP) in June 2026. It focuses on reading: search, timelines, trends and bookmarks. X says it does not support its write endpoints, so it cannot publish or schedule regular posts.

Can the official X MCP server schedule posts?

No. Neither XMCP nor the X API has a scheduling option, so a post goes out the moment it is created. A scheduler like PostPlanify holds the post and publishes it at the time you choose.

Do I need an X developer account to use an X MCP server?

For XMCP and most open-source servers, yes: you need your own developer app plus pay-per-use API credits. With PostPlanify, no. You connect your X account with a normal sign-in and PostPlanify handles the API.

How much does the X API cost in 2026?

X moved to pay-per-use credits with no monthly plan: about $0.015 per post created, $0.20 per post containing a link and $0.005 per post read. PostPlanify includes X publishing in its plan price, so you do not buy X API credits.

Can Claude post tweets?

Yes. Add PostPlanify as a connector in Claude and it can schedule posts to X with up to 4 images or videos.

Can ChatGPT schedule tweets for me?

Yes. Install the official PostPlanify plugin from the ChatGPT plugins directory, sign in, and ask it to schedule posts to your X account for any time you choose.

Can it post threads on X?

Not through the MCP yet. Each request schedules a single post. Threads on X can be created in the PostPlanify dashboard.

Can the AI read my X analytics?

Yes: impressions, likes, replies, reposts, quotes, bookmarks and engagement rate per post, plus follower counts.

Can it reply to mentions or comments on X?

No. X replies and mentions are not part of the MCP. It schedules and measures your own posts.

Is the X MCP server free?

MCP access is included on all paid PostPlanify plans, with no separate MCP fee. One connection covers X and the other 9 platforms. There is no X API bill on top.
